BUFFON'S TOURACOU
The touracous are the only birds from which an
actual pigment, which contains copper, can be de-
rived. This is found in the crimson wing feathers
and is called turacin. Touracous are mainly forest
birds, keeping to the tree-tops, feeding on fruit
and seeds. The nests are bulky, rough structures
and the two eggs are round and white.
