A flooded baseball field and surrounding area in the Quad Cities during the Great Flood of 1993. Relentless rains in June & July forced the Mississippi River and its tributaries to record high water levels. The Mississippi's predicted crest of 22.2 ft. on July 4, along with continuing rains the following week, brought a new crest of 22.63 ft. on July 9, breaking the previous record set in 1965. Preliminary estimates reveal over $10 billion in damage to homes, businesses, farms and crops in the Midwest.
