Nursery in Rufus Putnam House This is a view of the nursery in the Rufus Putnam House. This pioneer home, which has been sheltered within Campus Martius State Memorial Museum, in Marietta, Ohio, since 1931, has been furnished to re- flect the period during which it was occupied by the family of Rufus Putnam from 1788 to 1824. Pioneers built their beds high enough to accommodate a trundle- bed beneath. This "Historic House Museum" is owned by the State of Ohio and is under the custody of the Ohio State Archaeological and Historical Society, of Colum- bus, which is sponsoring "a fuller and keener apprecia- tion of Ohio's historic heritage."
