This is a view of the nursery in the Rufus Putnam House. This pioneer home, within Campus Martius State Memorial Museum, in Marietta, Ohio, has been furnished to reflect the period during which it was occupied by the family of Rufus Putnam from 1788 to 1824. Pioneers built their beds high enough to accommodate a trundle-bed beneath. "Historic House Museum" is owned by the State of Ohio and is under the custody of the Ohio State Archaeological and Historical Society, of Columbus, which is sponsoring "a fuller and keener appreciation of Ohio's historic heritage." |
