THE VILLAGE OF JUNE LAKE "The Village' is a modern resort town with a Alpine setting. When one turns off of Highway 395 they climb over Oh! Ridge, named from the remarks people made when they saw June Lake for the first time. The peak to the right is named Reversed Peak, the one to the far left is Carson, named after Kit Carson who was in the area looking for a pass west over the mountains. The entrance to the "Village" has a large boulder over thirty feet in diameter and a weight of over ninety tons. . M. P.
