AIR STRIP
This air strip is located along Highway 395 and a
short distance from Convict Lake and other High
Sierra Lakes. Flying skiers and fishermen use this
strip on flights from western towns. Aircraft of all
types may be seen along the runway as their own-
ers try their luck in the nearby lakes and streams.
In the background Mammoth Peak may be seen,
where nearby a great gold rush took place in the
1850s. There are a great number of old gold camps
