EUREKA
The San Francisco Maritime State Historic Park takes
great pride in presenting to the visitor to Hyde
Street Pier, the Ferry Steamer EUREKA. This vessel,
complete in all details, was built in 1890 as the
UKIAH, rebuilt and renamed EUREKA in 1922. Her
career ended in 1957 when the massive crank-pin
on her walking-beam engine snapped. Maintained
by the State of California, Department of Parks
and Recreation.
