DIRK BOGARDE, who regards the motion picture industry's future with optimism, stars in Luchino Visconti's
"Death in Venice," which he describes as “big in every way but cost." The Warner Bros. film was made in
Venice and Rome, used hundreds of extras and fantastic costumes but was held within a reasonable figure.
