Municipal Auditorium, built in 1931 at a cost
of $5,300,000, has been pronounced the finest build-
ing of its kind in the U. S. The building is of
marble, limestone, concrete and steel and covers an
area of 408 ft. by 236 ft. with a seating capacity
of 14,000 in the main Auditorium. It also has
ż 23 smaller rooms capable of seating 50 to 1800.
It was the scene of the Democratic National Con-
vention in 1936.
