KAWAIAHAO CHURCH, HONOLULU.
One of the historic churches of Honolulu is that of
Kawaiahao in Honolulu of which the corner stone was
laid in 1839, and the edifice completed in 1841. It has
been the church of ancient royalty. Interesting tablets
have been placed within the church in memory of the
saintly missionaries who preached there. Near by the
entrance is a mausoleum of Lunalilo, King of Hawaii, who
died in 1874 leaving his estate to found a home for aged
Hawaiians. This will ever keep his memory green.
