land Race Course occupies about 150 acres of
old Keene Place, founded on a tract of approxi-
mately 8,000 acres granted by Patrick Henry, then
Governor of Virginia, to his kinsman, Francis
Keene. The 1/16 mile oval track is considered one
of the fastest in the country; grandstand seats
2,500. Spring and summer meets.
