Horses leave the paddock for the track at Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Kentucky. Keeneland occupies about 150 acres of old Keeneland Place, founded by Patrick Henry, then lately 8,000 acres granted by a tract of approximately Governor of Virginia, to his kinsman, Francis Keene. The 1 1/8 mile track is considered one of the fastest in the country. Grandstand seats 2,500. Spring and summer meets.
