DOVER, DEL. - Historic tree-shaded Dover Green, ordered
laid out by William Penn in 1683. From here the Dela-
ware Regiment marched off to the north to join General
Washington after the news of the Declaration of Indepen-
dence. Fairs and markets were held here in years gone
by, but on Dover Days maypole dances, the minuet and
eighteenth century games take their place.
