The Adams Family presented this site in 1946 to
the United States Government for the American peo-
ple. It includes the "Old House" purchased in 1787
by President John Adams. This beautiful home with
its priceless heirlooms and many fine examples of
Colonial furniture and furnishings, contributed by
four successive generations of the Adams family, the
garden, the stone library, and the carriage house.
