This "giant" of the past was built in 1902 by Baldwin
Locomotive Works and is known as a "460 type". During
the first twenty-five years of its life it assisted the North
Coast Limited through the Cascade Mountains. It was
donated by the Northern Pacific Railway to the Metro-
politan Park Board in 1954.
