The Monument to Ypiranga, also known as the Independence Monument, is a monument located in the Ipiranga district of São Paulo, Brazil. It commemorates the Declaration of Independence of Brazil from Portugal on September 7, 1822. The monument was designed by Italian sculptor Ettore Ximenes and completed in 1922. It is made of granite and bronze and features a statue of Emperor Pedro I on horseback, as well as allegorical figures representing the provinces of Brazil.
