The lighthouse is built on a group of rocks known as the Longships, which are about 1.25 miles (2 km) west of Land's End. The current lighthouse was built in 1875 and is 118 feet (36 m) tall. It is automated and has a range of 18 nautical miles (33 km). The lighthouse is a popular tourist destination and can be seen from Land's End. |
