Dining room in home of Comdr. and Mrs.
Griffith Baily Coale, Stonington, Conn., built in
1750 by Capt. Amos Sheffield. Originally the
kitchen, the floor has a crown as did the deck
of the builder's whaling ships. Walls are hung
with whaling irons, and all the furnishings date
around 1750.
