The Scottish Terrier-a wiry-haired terrier with
short legs and fairly long body. Scottish Terriers
may either be black or brindled. They have long
been known in Scotland, but were not popular in
England till after 1877. They are excellent ratters
and very good house dogs, intelligent, and attached
to their owners. The breed is now smaller in size
than formerly and their hair is less shaggy.
