STONINGTON, CONNECTICUT
Air view of Stonington Borough, the oldest borough in
New England. Stonington's first white settler in 1649
was Wm. Chesebrough, born in England in 1594. He
came to the area with his wife and four sons and built
a house in the locality now known as Wequetequock.
During July, the local commercial fishing boats are
blessed by the bishop and services are held in
remembrance of fishermen who were lost at sea.
