Front:
EMPANADAS.
3 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
3 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup milk
Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Add
shortening and milk to create a dough thick enough to
hold together. Roll dough on floured board to a
thickness of approximately 1/8". Cut into 4" rounds.
Place a fruit mixture of your choice on half of the dough,
moisten edges and fold over other half, seal edges.
Bake at 3750 for 15 minutes or fry in deep fat until
brown.
