Completed in 1927, it was designed in the Tudor Revival style by local architects Schmidt, Boucher & Overend. The building cost, including the land and garage, was $1,228,000.00. There are ten floors, ninety-seven units, and even a roof garden and a ballroom. It was the first cooperative apartment venture in Kansas. Through the years The Hillcrest has retained its reputation for quality and excellence.
