DORY FISHERMEN'S MARKET
Located near the long recreation pier, at Newport Beach,
California, this public fish market is one of the most
unusual and unconventional business enterprises in the
state. It is operated by a group of energetic dory fisher-
men, who are granted free use of the beach by city
authorities. It is felt that the market contributes a truly
colorful phase to beach activities. While the fishermen
carry no city business license, they are required to carry
a California State Commercial Fisherman's license. . M.P.
