Navaho Indian Family And Hogan
Additional Details:
The Navaho Indian reservation is reached from Gallup, Holbrook and Winslow. These Indians are called bedouins of the desert, from the fact that they never settle for any length of time in one village, but live in Hogans or temporary structures and travel from place to place. The Navahos are noted for their blankets, and they are also expert silversmiths, a very unusual occupation for Indians. They are great horsemen and on the reservation raise numbers of sheep and goats. |
