Born Nov. 16, 1873 at Florence, Alabama. Died March
28, 1958 New York City. His golden trumpet and
immortal songs like "Memphis Blues," "Beale Street
Blues" and "St. Louis Blues" have made him loved
and remembered in the hearts of the nation. His
music is known throughout the world. His life is the
tale of three streets. Beale Street in Memphis; Market
Street in St. Louis and Broadway in New York.
