Additional Details:
Across the road from Judge Roy Bean's famous law office, and a short distance from the Rio Grande and Old Mexico Hangman's Tree and Langtry are located in some of the wildest, roughest and badland country of Texas where in the old days, rattlesnakes, rustlers, killers, Indians and outlaws were humerous and at home. The story is that oncel the Judge, known far and wide as ""The Law West of the Pecos"", was busy serving whiskey when a deputy brought in a rustler. The old Judge found the rustler guilty and then said to the deputy, ""I'm busy here. Take him out and tie his neck to some handy limb."" This tree had the handiest limb and so ""Law West of the Pecos"" was carried out
