ELFRETH'S ALLEY
Between Front and Second Street
North of Arch Street
A street of Colonial buildings with charming
doors and windows occupied continuously for
200 years. They retain the interesting char-
acter and simplicity of old Philadelphia. The
word "alley" once carried the flavor of a
polite residential section. Many persons
prominent in history resided here. The in-
terior of No. 115 "The Hearthstone" is open
to visitors.
