Built about 1812, the Carroll Mansion is Baltimore's finest surviving town house of the period. Charles Carroll of Carrollton, signer of the Declaration of Independence, lived here during the last decade of his life and died in this building in 1832, age 95. Now restored as a public museum. The Shot Tower is visible in the background.
