Libby is the county seat of Lincoln County and home
of J. Neils Lumber Co., a division of St. Regis Paper
Co., the state's largest producer of lumber and wood
products. This operation employs approximately 1,200
people in Lincoln County and is continually expand-
ing. The $350 million LIBBY DAM is under construction
a few miles east of Libby, upstream on the Kootenai
River.
