The Hot-Springs were discovered in 1825 when the
first white settlers saw Indians bathing in the 125
degree water. In 1889 the Hot-Springs was turned
into a resort and the first tourists came to the Springs
in Covered Wagons. Nestled in the valley at the
3200-foot elevation, California Hot-Springs Resort
is a complete health and recreation community, with
a coffee shop, fountain, cocktail lounge, recreation
hall, warm water pool, general store, trout pond,
filling station, complete therapy department, house-
keeping & motel type cottages.
