HANOVER TAVERN, Hanover, Virginia. Home
of Barksdale Theatre since 1953. Built in early
18th century. Owners included Wm. Parks of
Williamsburg, printer-founder of Virginia Gazette
and John Shelton, father-in-law of Patrick Henry
who lived here at time of "Parson's Cause" trial.
During Revolutionary War, Cornwallis stayed here
and later George Washington. A Virginia Historic
Landmark.
