EGINNT SEE SAM
The Giant See Saw at Omaha's
Trans-Mississippi International Exposition
The Giant See Saw made its debut at the Tennessee
Centennial Exposition in 1897. After its Omaha appearance in
1898, it was on to Buffalo for the 1901 Pan-American
Exposition. Renamed the Aeriocycle, the cabins were replaced
by wheels, each with four cars. From Buffalo this first "double
Ferris wheel" was moved to Coney Island, where it was a
prominent landmark at Steeplechase Park until 1929.
