guns force the vaccine into the blood stream. Re-
cruits get immunization against yellow fever,

a choice of either the "skinhead" haircut or the
regular recruit haircut. In the recruit haircut, hair
may be three inches long on top and sideburns can
come to the middle of the ear.

8,000 persons per meal. Within the master galley
are four dining halls (one shown here) with a total
of eight serving lines. The $2.5 million structure

Aerial view shows Camp Nimitz in the foreground

nel. Camp Nimitz was put into operation in 1955
and named in honor of Fleet Admiral Chester W.
Nimitz. It has a total of 45.76 acres, 20 buildings
and a normal recruit load of 5400. At Nimitz, re-
cruits undergo three weeks of primary training and
then move to the main side for advanced training..
