CORRIDOR AND MAIN STAIRWAYS, UTAH STATE CAPITOL, SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH
4A-H315
Back:
The Corridor and Rotunda occupy the sec-
ond floor, these corridors are the most spa-
cious and artistically arranged in the whole
country. They are graced by 24 columns of
light gray marble, 25 feet high, weighing
25,000 pounds each. Two main stairways lead
to the 3rd floor; these are broad, massive,
and well proportioned, giving the corridor a
very majestic appearance. The rotunda occu-
pies the center of the 2nd floor. With its
beautiful paintings and wonderfully arranged
chandeliers, it is a marvel of artistic beauty.
