OAK RIDGE CEMETERY
The foundation for the tomb was laid in
1869 and the superstructure was completed in
1871 at a cost of $180,000. In 1901 it was re-
built at a cost of $100,000 and in 1931 an ap-
propriation of $175,000 was voted to rebuild
the structure. The obelisk rises 117 feet above
the sidewalk and the base of the structure is
seventy feet square and fifteen feet high. The
monument contains the bodies of Abraham
Lincoln-16th President of the U. S. A.-Mrs.
Lincoln and three of the four Lincoln children.
