The Edison Tower, Menlo Park, located on the site of the original laboratory, was erected in 1937, and dedicated on February 11th, 1938, the 91st anniversary of the birth of Thomas Alva Edison. Here he invented the first successful incandescent lamp. To memorialize this invention, a beacon light symbolical of the original lamp, is maintained at the top of the Tower. Some of Edison's inventions including his early phonographs are displayed in the small museum here. |
