THE EDISON MONUMENT
MENLO PARK, NEW JERSEY
This monument is located on the site of the original
Laboratory. Occupied by the inventor from 1876 to
1886. Here Thomas Alva Edison invented the first
successful incandescent lamp, and the phonograph.
The monument is surmounted by a glass replica of
the original lamp.
