King George Inn, 181 Mount Bethel road
Additional Details:
The King George Inn is the oldest building in Warren Township. For many years it was a stage stop on King George's Road, a pre-Revolutionary highway running from Perth Amboy to Morristown. During restoration work of 1953-54, original hand-hewn beams were uncovered in the Tap Room. The Dining Rooms are furnished in authentic period pieces. Closed Mondays. For reservations call: 647-0410 M. James Hayden, Innkeeper. |

The most disgusting news from Warren, is the demolition of the King George Inn. What were you all thinking when you let it pass through your hands to a man who obviously has no cares about history. Come on now, the Inn goes back to pre-revolutionary war days, the oldest building in Warren. The entire twp. board should be dismissed from any further service. My heart with so many other Warren Twp. natives is sinking.
