Artist's rendering of $ 444 million Bolsa Island Nuclear Power and Desalting Plant to be constructed on a man-made island off the City of Huntington Beach in Orange County by the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, Department of Water and Power of the City of Los Angeles, Southern California Edison Company and the San Diego Gas & Electric Company. The plant will ultimately produce 150 million gallons of fresh water daily - enough for a City the size of San Francisco and will generate about 1800 megawatts of electricity - city more than Hoover Dam. |
