broke every existing world's record for fully equipped
railroad trains. Established mark of 120 miles per hour;
set new average of 84 miles per hour for distances over
500 miles; lowered the record running time Los Angeles
to Chicago to 38 hours and 50 minutes, and from Los
Angeles to New York to 56 hours and 55 minutes.
