Additional Details:
Virginia House, reconstructed in 1927 from materials of ancient Warwick Priory built in England in 1565, and visited by Queen Elizabeth in 1572. The main portion is after the older portion of Warwick Priory. The west wine and main entry door are replicas of Sulgrave Manor, ancestral home of George Washington. The entrance tower is a reproduction from Wormleighton, home of Lord Spencer. This is a private residence and not open to the public, but is to become the property of the Virginia Historical Society through the generosity of the owners, Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Weddell.
