The site at an altitude of 4,209 feet comprises 3,120 acres; is 26 miles from San Jose. The marvelous view from Mt. Hamilton over Santa Clara Valley, and the 36 inch and 12 inch equatorial telescopes attract thousands of visitors each year to the summit.
