Additional Details:
One of the pretty bends on the road to the summit of Lookout Mountain. Lookout Mountain is one of the mountains of the earth that does not ""obstruct a view."" It affords a most impressive spectacle, famous for its scenery and history. Point Park is at the tip of its crest. Confederate batteries of the Civil War, tablets of information regarding the engagements are among the interesting sights. War relics, beautiful mountain homes, hotels and drives are all interesting. Lookout Mountain expands into a great plateau of farming lands as it extends southward for more than 86 miles. At its top magnificent scenes of the valleys, the river and Chattanooga can be seen. It overlooks five States-Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, North and South Carolina-and some have declared that they can observe points in Kentucky and West Virginia. It is a 15-minute drive by auto from Chattanooga over a concrete highway to Point Park on the summit of Lookout Mountain
