This magnificent view from the Point of Lookout Moun-
tain is one of the most famous in the world. At the right
in the distance may be seen Chattanooga and 1600 feet
below is the Tennessee River winding its way around Mocas-
sin Bend. Here, at the Point, the Battle Above the Clouds
w was fought in November, 1863. Because of the historical
and scenic interest the Government has created a National
Park embracing the Point and its slopes.
