The Old Stone House (as restored in 1964), built in 1822 at the intersection of the first two public roads through Butler County. It became a local center for travel, communications and trade; was one of the best known post houses between Pittsburgh and Erie in the days of the stagecoach. This important tourist attraction is located on Route 8 between Butler and Franklin, near Slippery Rock, Pa.
