In the beautiful valley along the Wissahickon Creek, is this old and lone representative of the lost Wissahickon Valley hostelries of Revolutionary days. The original hostelrie was in existence in 1683, frequented by millers and farmers. In 1778, Washington and Lafayette were reported to have dined here on their way from Barren Hill Camp to Germantown. |
