The Poinsett Hotel, Greenville, S. C., is
one of the Carolinas' finest hotels and is ab-
solutely fire-proof. It was named for Gen-
eral Joel Roberts Poinsett, author, statesman,
orator, scientist and botanist, who was at one
time a resident of Greenville. This distin-
guished South Carolinian introduced into the
United States the gorgeous Poinsettia flower,
the “Flor de Parque", of Mexico.
