The savings bank of Utica, incorporated in 1839, stands on the eastern side of Genesee Street, diagonally opposite the City Hall. The present building was erected in 1898; it is a magnificent; structure of limestone with marble trimmings, surrounded by an immense copper dome, and the outside cost, without its vaults of equipment's was $140,000.
