"Daughter of the Stars". First helium filled airship built by United States. Assembled at Lakehurst N.J. and made its flight Sept. 4, 1923. Its length was 680 feet. The dirigible crashed in a severe wind storm in southern Ohio, Sept. 3, 1925. Among crew members killed was its Commander Zachary Lansdowne, born in Greensville, Ohio. |
