Jackson County Court House
Additional Details:
Now completely modern and fireproof, was reconstructed around the walls left standing following a fire of Jan. 25, 1951. Reconstruction cost 10 times as much as the original $30,000 contract for the building after an earlier Courthouse had burned Sept. 20, 1860. Cornerstone laid May 30, 1867, and building later extended to the front and portico with sandstone pillars added. |
