This building has participated in every major con-
flict America has been involved. Pres. Geo. Wash-
ington and James Monroe entertained in this building.
1780 used as British headquarters and prison known
as The Provost.
1690 Charleston sea wall known as Half-Moon Bat-
tery is excavated and displayed in cellars of
building. "The Provost" Admission Museum in
cellars of the Exchange Building.
