JOSEPH MANIGAULT HOUSE
Charleston, S. C.
The Joseph Manigault House is one of the outstand-
ing examples of Adam architecture in America. It
was built by Joseph Manigault about 1803, designed
by his brother Gabriel, an amateur architect. The
house is noted for its classical balance of design.
In 1933, the late Princess Pignatelli bought the
house and gave it to The Charleston Museum. Open
to the public.
